wisconsin1982,
I'm planning a move from Indiana to ABQ. Since I'm not a native ABQ'an, this may be weird but I actually have advice. From posting on here so much I feel like I already live there. I've been told by a lot of people that Rio Rancho, a community north west of ABQ, has a lot of call center jobs. I'm not sure about the construction stuff but I looked into Rio Rancho employment and they do have a ton of call center jobs.
Hit this website... abqjobs.com
Good luck!

Hey Jrod - you are right! Victoria Secret is located in Rio Rancho and J.C.Penney's. Both are call centers and are always advertising for help.
Good luck Wisconsin!

There are plenty of construction jobs... If you speak Spanish.
Remodeling and other trades don't usually require Spanish, however.

Best way to get a starter job is to go work at one of the TEMP Agencies as they'll send you to different work sites all around the city. Some job sites will suck but others are cool to work at. Some are Constuction, Warehouse, Apartment Complexes, Pool cleaning or Land Scaping etc...
That's how i got in the Apartment industry as 13 years ago i moved here from Florida and had little job skills and no work so i got on at Manpower Inc and they sent me to an Apartment Complex to pick up trash and paint the fire lane cirbs etc...and in 3 weeks they hired me on and have learned inhouse all aspects of Apartment and Housing repair,maintenance/remodeling etc...
Tip who's hiring and that is Bob's Painting as they paint Apartment Complexes and Houses. I think they start at $10.00 an hour and you'll learn how to prep buildings and spray paint.

6'3", this is great advice. I love temp agencies. It's a good way to meet potential employers. I've gotten permanent jobs that way. I've also turned down offers for permanent jobs when I didn't think the employer was a good fit.
