I'm relocating to Albuquerque and I have 5 senior dogs. I have read up on local ordinances and i think Placitas, Rio Rancho or in sandoval county with a reasonable commute to Albuquerque is where I need to be. I have been aggressively searching through trulia, Zillow, and local property management websites. Any tips from locals on different avenues I should try and pursue? I am going to call local shelters and veterinarians this week in addition to my online searches. I found the apps are sometimes not as helpful. The ad will say accepts large dogs but then in the description it has breed restrictions. Any insight is appreciated! Thank you!

Rio Rancho City Animal Regulations: https://rrnm.gov/220/City-Animal-Regulations

I did not consider the regulations to be harsh... Others will disagree...

Over the past 20 years, our dogs have met all of the requirements.

These are the Sandoval County regs:

There are no separate regulations in Placitas. If you want to move into a subdivision in Placitas that has an HOA, you need to review that subdivision's HOA CCRs as each may have differing rules.
