Default Santa Fe Village (NW near Petroglyphs)

Does anyone have any thoughts on this area? Specifically, how is he situation with snakes and the sand blowing around out there? And do people feel like it's ridiculously far away?

I have been in love with the Pat Hurley area, but I am succumbing to the chorus of "Hell no"s and looking at other places to live. We will be moving to Albuquerque sometime in the next 2-3 months and just completed a visit to look at other neighborhoods. We liked the wide open feel of the Santa Fe Village area, the house prices were pretty good, and we like the idea of being near the petroglyphs. On the other hand, we don't want to be way out where no one will ever come to see us, and feel like we are not part of ABQ's life.

Any opinions are welcome.
