I will be in Albuquerque for two days for a wedding very shortly. I need to get my chile fix, but don't know Albuquerque restaurants well. With the wedding festivities, I won't have much opportunity to dine out, so don't want to waste any chow time on an average meal.
I don't need anything fancy or touristy, great New Mex food in a strip mall would work for me. I look forward to your replies.
Thanks!

There's a place on 4th near menaul that I can't think the name of but it's really good. Especially the Carne Adovada. I'm hoping someone else will know or get their memory jogged and fill in.
Change of plans. We were dis-invited (is that a word?) to the rehearsal dinner - immediate family and wedding party only. So now we will spend Friday night in Santa Fe, and return for the wedding on Sunday afternoon. Need suggestions for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in Santa Fe.
Thanks!
La Choza
The Shed
Maria's Mexican Kitchen
Blue Corn Cafe
Diego's Cafe
Tomasita's
Harry's Roadhouse (one of my favorite places, and you can get New Mexican cuisine, but it is not a strictly New Mexican Restaurant).
I have heard of other good ones, but have not tried them yet.
I think it is a chain, but I like Tortilla Flats too.
For Mexican (not New Mexican) there is Aduelita's and Los Potrillos. (I am not particularly fond of Mexican because they don't use the green chile like New Mexican does.)
Caveat: Anyplace I recommend will be low priced. I don't eat in the expensive Santa Fe restaurants.
Low price is good. Thanks for the tips. Have eaten at The Shed and Maria's, and glad to hear they are still good. It's almost lunchtime here, and my stomach is rumbling.
I love the posole at La Choza and the food is consistently good. It's my favorite place. (They do not have a full liquor license, so the margaritas are made with wine, but I think they are pretty good.)
Maria's has the best green chile stew, in my opinion ... and the STRONGEST margaritas by far.
And Diego's has the hottest green chile I have found. yummmmmm....
Harry's has the most extensive menu and a fun ambience. It is always crowded but there is never a long wait.
I remember having some great red chile at Guadalupe Cafe. That was years ago (try 15 years!). I see it is still there, but is it still good?
