How about the NE side of ABQ?
How about the NE side, especially the 87111 zip code? I'm very interested in that area. Also, does anyone have some good info on Kirtland AFB or the VA Medical Center.
Lots of good info on this great site.

Zipcodes - City of Albuquerque
Maps out the zip code area for you. Zips "next door" - 87109, 87110 & 87112 - are also nice. From what I've seen, this is the older part of ABQ, and probably where most of the trees are.

Thanks yukon! Your great with providing useful info. Will go to the site.... right now.
abqsunport, also thank you. Plan to really search all that I can about this area. Sorta looks like that is where we are really focusing our attention on living. Glad to hear you like that part of town.

Yeah I would absolutely recommend all the neighboring zips like yukon, especially 87122. But for price, neighborhood, and house quality, I also really like 87111.

87111 is a good location. I lived there for a year while working at the VA and UNM-H. It took about 30 min or so to commute down Wyoming to the VA or over to UNM-H. The interstate was usually a little quicker. Did you have specific questions about the VA? I loved working there. My tour was 8-4:30 M-F and I was with the behavioral health service line.

Are you sure about that statement? Unless by 'older' you mean pre-2000.

honu1, thanks for the reply. Regarding the VA, anything you have to comment on I would be pleased to read. I am 100% disabled and will certainly be using them a lot. Having worked behavioral health your just the person to give me some insight in that area. I am rated for Dysthymia/PTSD hope this will give you some insight as to what I'm looking for. Also, just the general attitude of the ABQ VAMC and how about any CBOC's or OPC's, do they have them out in town. You just might be able to give me some info on TRICARE, can you.
Yep, every day that I communicate with my friend on the NE 87111 area and now with you guys & gals, I certain that ABQ is the City and 87111 is the area.
Thanks to all that have replied.
