Default Albuquerque city limits?

I want to let everyone know that I appreciate the helpful responses I have received so far on this forum. I have another question, this time about living outside of the technical Albuquerque city limits. I notice that much of the North Albuquerque Acres and Sandia Heights area is technically outside of the municipal limits. For the most part, however, I have not been able to find any real differences between living within and outside the city limits (ex. they are still part of Alb pub schools, still have city water/sewer for the most part, didn't see a difference with taxes). Does anyone know of any differences (meaningful or not) between living in the NE area slightly within the technical limits and living in the NE area slightly outside of the limits?

Related question: one of the homes I am looking at in the 87122 zip is outside the city limits and says it has community water/sewer (most of the other homes outside the city limits still say they have city water/sewer though). What does "community water/sewer" mean exactly?

Community Sewer usually refers to a shared well between a street. Many homes in North Albuquerque Acres are on private wells actually, and they have to have their septic systems dumped. However, if the house you are refering to is in a place like Sandia Heights, they have their own water/sewage system than the City of Albuquerque. So make sure to check what kind of water wastewater systems they have in place before you buy--wells can be a big pain.

abqsunport, when you mention that wells can be a pain, is it the maintenance (occasional chlorination) or quality of the water that is the problem.... or are they actually drying up and needing to be drilled deeper?? I was looking around NAA yesterday, and actually saw a big truck and drilling equipment doing their thing at an empty lot.

All of the above, but the biggest pain is when they need to be drilled deeper. Its a huge strain on the budget! It is managable, but might be extra work that isn't necessary.
