What'd ya know this just out as it looks like Genzyme located in Santa Fe which opened a Genomics center a while back and employs 300 people is set to expand it's operations and personel.

Saved by the B-52's

Default How many will be transfers

You must take into consideration that of the projected 1,300 employed - a good majority of them will be transferred from Colorado Springs.

Humble opinion.

All of the local news media are saying HP expects to hire most of the employees locally. But bringing some in from neighboring cities is fine too since Albuquerque unemployment rate is hovering around 3.3-3.5.

Yeap i seen Gov Richardson say on tv a majority would be local hires and even the ones who come from elsewhere they still will contribute to the economy as like when Military Personel come to a city via it's Army, Navy, Marines or Airforce bases or Ports as they spend locally.

I just found out about this. Sounds like Colorado's loss, New Mexico's gain. A common trend I've been noticing lately. First it was the film industry, now it's this. It's news stories like this that continue to put Albuquerque on my radar.

Default Currently work at HP

I just found this out about a week or so after I visited Colorado Springs to scope out the area and various sales positions there. I currently work for HP's consumer sales center in Boise, ID and have been one of their top performers for over a year and a half and was looking to grow into the business sales departments in Colorado. Apparently not only will there be technical positions in Rio Rancho, but all the volume sales from colorado springs will be there too. They told the current employees there the move will be completed within 18-24 months. Can anybody give us some insight on Rio Rancho? My wife and I will have our first born by then (will be 10-16 months old by then).

It's a sandy hill... with McMansions, a Home Depot, a few car dealerships, and some other stuff. The view of the mountains is unbeatable though.
