Default Winrock re-development

Looks like Winrock is looking to get a Major make over with possibly some new high end stores to the area, including Nordstrom's, Crate & Barrel, and an Imax theatre. If this pans out the Uptown area will be a shopping MECCA with Coronado Center, ABQ Uptown & Winrock Town Center.

Man... they've been talking about doing that for years. It seems only appropriate that they would begin after my wife and I leave.

Just read the article... and they're still just "talking" about it. What's up with the mini-Rio Grande? We don't want to be like San Antonio do we?

I've never been to San Antonio, but I think water in a retail environment can be a good thing. It probably encourages people to shop there more often and spend more.

Not so sure if that part of town is ready for more retail though, particularly upscale retail. What Winrock lost when it closed, ABQ Uptown pretty much picked up for.

On another note, it looks like our water park on Carlisle is moving along on its construction. I miss water parks, and a winter-capable water park is going to be pretty cool.

Water park on Carlisle?! What?!

What info. can you give me on that?

I'm not sold on the water feature thingy in ABQ. We're making great strides in using much less water... the whole grey-water, cistern idea sounds good, but almost too good (refering to the Journal Article above).
