Default Please Help!

I found out today that we are on a wait list for married student housing and need to find an alternative to move into eff 07/23/08.

Can you advise of a safe area with good schools that is walking distance or no more than 15 minutes by car from the university? Does this even exist so close to the university? I am looking for apartment complex names or rental areas that we could scope out.

Any input would be much appreciated!

Diane

What price range are you looking for, how many bedrooms/baths do you need, and can it be more than 15 minutes from UNM (in traffic, that is)?

We are looking at 2-3 bedrooms and 1-2 baths. I would prefer no more than 20 minutes to campus as we will only have 1 car. Decent schools would be helpful as well. We did see a rental in NE heights that is about 1/2 mile from Osuna ES...any opinions on this area/school?

Thank you!

Diane

Good school, good neighborhood.

Extremely long commute. Not a good choice if you go to UNM.

Try looking much harder for areas near Monte Vista ES, which is a good school and it's much closer to UNM.

Would avoid points immediately south of UNM, but other surroundings are very decent. Since UNM parking is a hassle in and of itself, you owe it to yourself to not rely on the car, even if you still have a car.
