Walk Friendly Neighboorhoods/Communities?
HI,
Just got a job offer to Albquerque and had a question about neighboorhoods/communities that are "walk friendly". I have transportation so would not be "tied" to walking only. But, if I decide to take the job would like to find an area that can be lived in which could walk to food, entertainment, pub, light shopping, and see other people on the street. Is downtown the only option for this or are there other commuting commuites that would offer this?

Dingo, Nob Hill, UNM & downtown may be the best for what you describe, but there are also a lot of other areas around town where you can find this to some degree.
For instance, the area where we used to live, near Eubank & Juan Tabo in the far NE Heights, would be considered the 'burbs by most. But we could walk to shopping, several fast food joints and stores, and a first class tavern, in under 5 min. Much of the NE Heights has a good mix of residential & commercial in this way.

I love the Nob Hill area, but as Tim Rankin mentioned, the area of Juan Tabo & Eubank is very walkable. the H & A pub was one of my fav spots, as I used to live in that area of town.
