Don wouldn't do that. Lots of vagrants are sunburnt.

No he doesn't.
People have an irritating habit of publicly dismissing rights that we have for which thousands of people died getting them to you and all of us.
Even now in many parts of the world if you act the wrong way or say the wrong thing someone else decides that you should die for it and you do.
Just deciding that someone who act a little different isn't a reason to have the s*** kicked out of them.
If that just isn't patently obvious to someone then that someone is sub-mental.

Ok, this thread has become about Don Schrader.....I know that the guy I'm referring to (in my original post) is NOT Don Schrader. The guy I'm referring to looks like Billy Joel, is annoying, shoplifts, and is a basic all-around nuisance. If he's still around, he basically wanders up and down San Mateo, shoplifting and annoying people.

No, Mortimer, it is you that is wrong.
His right to protest stops when he begins the process of showing his genitalia to the public. If he wants to assemble peaceably, then, no matter how much I might disagree with his stance on nuclear weapons, or whatever the hell his axe is to grind, then that is his right, per the U.S. Constitution. The minute he begins to expose himself or urinate on a street corner, he then impinges upon others rights, including those of my wife and children. If I were visiting Albuquerque on vacation, (like I did earlier this summer) and I encountered a situation where this man was partaking in lewd and lacivious behavior in front of my children, then you bet I stand by my original quote.
So you reserve the right to decide who gets a beatdown? For what they get a beatdown?
When they get a beatdown? How hard a beatdown?
By whom they get a beatdown? When it stops?
You know, I used to feel the same way Mike does. BEFORE a member of my own family was diagnosed with a mental illness. Have compassion for these people, instead of hatred, before you too are forced to understand them in a whole new light. Just my .02
