Default Corrales

So as the questions continue to flow, heres mine. I was looking at moving up to the NW about ten minutes from Corrales. Is this a nice area? Any good or bad would help, thanks.

Are we talking out near 550?

It's kind of... out there.

I'm sure someone will respond with first-hand experience.

Corrales offers a green lushness to the otherwise arid landscape of ABQ, as it sits along the Rio Grande. A quaint community and last time I looked, you need big bucks to buy property there. I'd love to live in Corrales.

Are you looking to move northwest of Corrales toward Bernalillo, or southwest of Corrales around Taylor Ranch/Northwest Heights? There's a bit of a difference. The first area is the edge of the known world, lots of "cookie cutter" developments, though Bernalillo is coming along as a town to live near. The second area is more varied -- lots of Midwest-style brick homes in Taylor Ranch, many custom homes scattered throughout the NW Heights, closer to other parts of town, and great views!

Tell us more.

I'm talking about south of Corrales in the NW Heights.

We moved to the N/W Abq.- Paradise Hills area a few years ago and like it very much.

It's very quiet and clean, neighbors are nice. It's an attractive area that was affordable for us to buy a small house in. The neighborhoods near us are nicely kept up. We feel safe here.

We like being close to the Cottonwood Mall, and close to the Restaurants and other stores in the area. We like being close to Rio Rancho where we do much of our shopping, and visit friends there. We like to go to Corrales and shop, too.

It is a relaxing place for us to live. Quiet, peaceful and little traffic. It's nice when we come home because it seems like we are not in a big city at all.

We have easy access to Doctors and Urgent Care when needed.

Bad:

It's hard to come up with many bad things because we like it here so much.

But, it's a bit of a drive when we need to go the N/E Albuquerque for some reason. But, we only go there a few times a year - so that's not a big deal for us.

Wish we had a closer and bigger library.

Can't think of anything more "bad," because we are happy here.
N/W Albuquerque has been a good fit for our family.
