Default LOST Just Rescued Dog in Rio Rancho - If you see him please call!

LOST from the Northern & Hwy 528 in Vista Hills area of Rio Rancho.
Call 307-9547 if you see him.

This dog was just rescued from our shelter in Socorro and placed into a foster of a no-kill rescue in Rio Rancho, NM. He does NOT know his way around Rio Rancho and will most likely not find his way back to his foster's home. He is skinny and we are worried he won't last long out by himself. So if you see him please call asap or try to catch him.

His name is "Shorty" and he is a goofy looking Basset cross (at least his body looks Basset), he has short legs, one of the front legs is twisted and he walks funny, and his top canines are broken. He is pretty skinny with a protruding backbone. He is NOT neutered and NOT chipped as he just got to his foster on Sunday. Shorty is wearing a yellow and green diamond pattern snap collar with his foster's phone number on it. Shorty is gentle and will not bite you but may be a bit shy. I think he could be tempted with a treat.

Please help us find this guy! He has come so far already!

OH!!!! IntheDesert! WONDERFUL WONDERFUL NEWS!

I have been worried about that little guy since I read your first post. I've been in dog rescue for a long time, and often the result is a bad one when one of them gets loose.

Thanks for a happy ending!!!

P.S. Shorty is a real cutie!

The funny thing is, someone spotted him late last night on the sidewalk, they chased him for a couple of hours and finally gave up since he kept running down into an arroyo. The fosters decided they would try again this morning or put a trap out for him and when they got up, there he was sitting in their backyard like nothing ever happened! LOL... you gotta love dogs.

Considering he has only been in Rio Rancho since Sunday afternoon, I am really surprised he found his way back over their fence and into their yard! He must of wanted to go explore his new digs in Rio Rancho! This guy has come a long way so I am so glad he found his way back. Next week is neuter time, he'll probably run away again after that too...LOL.

Great!! I work in specific-breed rescue, and have two rescues of my own!

That dog looks like a Basset-Welsh Corgi cross!
