Folk,

The wife and I will be re-locating to Alb within the next few months and I had some questions regarding housing. For the first 6 months or so I would like to rent a 2-3br house that comes equipped with a fenced in yard (for the dog). I am hoping to keep the rent between 500-800. I would like to live in a safe and semi quiet area. I will be working downtown, but I don't mind commuting if it will save me some money. I am from El Paso and currently live in Kansas City, so I don't know a lot about ALB (heck I can't even spell it right...haha).

Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the Albuquerque forum!

I don't think you will find many (if any) properties in your price range.

What industry are you in?

You should be able to find something in the NE Heights or maybe even Nob Hill for around $800, however it will be more likely 2 bedroom. Nob Hill tends to have private landlords and if you find the right place you can get a great deal, when we first moved here we had a 2 bed, 1 bath with a huge private backyard with tree's for $700 and that was only a few years ago. We found it by driving around, checking craigslist and checking the paper (abqjournal.com). If you find something you like post the approx area on here and I'm sure someone will be able to tell you a little about what you have found.

Thanks for the replies. I am in management and my wife is in education. I was just offered a great job in ALB and am excited at the move. I'm from the south (el paso, tx) and I can't wait to return. I'll be down there in about 3 weeks.....
