Best Areas to Live in Albuquerque?
Hello All,
I am being transferred to ABQ within the month for work purposes and I would love some direction on where to settle down. I don't have much time to find a new place so any help would be appreciated. I currently live in Fort Worth, TX and I made the terrible mistake of signing the first lease I could find because of similar time constraints and this area is terrible! the theft rate and crime is much higher than I ever would have imagined and I don't want to reapeat the mistake.
Also, if anyone happens to know of some nice townhomes for rent in the area, please let me know. I've found a few already but I want to look at all possibilities! Thank you for the help!

rachelle1984...Sorry about your FTW experience. I think you will get some good guidance at this forum. It would be very helpful if you could let the Albuquerque folks know where you will be working, what kind of things are important to you, what you like to do for fun, that kind of thing.

I wish i knew! lol. i think long term i will be working in Belen (sp?) but i'm certainly willing to commute for a nicer area to live. I'm 24 and have no children but i'd certainly prefer a family-oriented area over where i'm currently at. as for fun, i enjoy being outdoors, working out, and would love to live in a more centralized area. i have to drive all over fort worth to find anything right now and i hate it. (ex. there's a very nice gym but it's 10 miles down the road and the dog park is even further) i'm from Norman, OK and i love that suburban feel and convenience of having everything within reach. i have an english mastiff that i walk quite a bit too, if that makes a difference. Any suggestions you could offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all!

no no... I was thinking that you might want to live near the rail road in order to take advantage of the RailRunner.

Well... you might be able to find a home in Corrales that has room for a dog.
Are you familiar with the RailRunner?
