Albuquerque is NOT all that matters. Electoral votes are not determined by who wins each district. It's all or nothing, so a vote for your candidate in Alamogordo counts just as much as a vote for your candidate in Albuquerque.

That being said, Republicans would get more bang for their visit by sticking to Albuquerque suburbs and southeastern NM, while Democrats would do well to visit inner-city Albuquerque, northern NM, and Dona Ana county.

It was packed, I think that they let in around 1000 people, and you had to pick tickets up at the Headquarters.

I'd be interested to hear if his message differed from television clips ... how/why were you impressed? [or is that a question for the political threads?]
He is very genuine in person. He is truly dedicated to serving America. That was evident, and impressed me.

A couple more points, and I hope I don't offend the mods. I attended an Obama rally. Protestors were not allowed anywhere near the Obama rally. They actully confiscated McCain signs in the name of security. There were about 25 McCain protestors at UNM yesterday. A lady in front of me asked a McCain staffer about the protestors, and he told her that McCain feels that all Americans have the right to free speach. I don't know if this is McCain's stance, or just a smart staffer, but it was a telling comment. I enjoyed talking to the protestors, and hearing their concerns.
I have seen both live. Obama is an impressive speaker in a debate setting, and less impressive when giving a rally speach. McCain is just the opposite.

Lobo Daily counted the protesters as 250 -- I disagree .. more around like 30-40 (or 25 as trappedinNM suggests).

I also wondered about the demonstrators. I would never demonstrate ... it seems disrespectful to me. But I am glad you explained the staffer's response to the protesters.

And the Dow is still falling.

I saw that in the paper. There were not even close to 250. There could have been 30 or 40.

Why hasn't this very opinionated political thread been shut down???!!!??!?

Since it hasn't, I'll add my opinion. Obama is dedicated and sincere but flawed. McCain is dedicated and sincere, but flawed.

Whata buncha clowns!!!

(But, of course, I will vote for one of them).

Anyone know where I can get a McCain lawn sign for free (and no I won't steal from my neighbors)? Sadly, both canidates rot. I'm chosing the lesser of two evils in my mind.

Thanks!
