Default Rental Opinions

Guys,

I was wondering if anyone could give me opinions on the following area...

3033 Chama Meadows Rio Ranch, NM

I am thinking about renting this house, but I have not been in the area and would like to know if this is a good spot. I will be working in downtown ALB, but I don't mind the commute.

Thanks

Its really not that bad of a commute. My husband commutes daily and doesn't mind. But then he commuted 51 miles one way back in Maine, so this is much shorter.
I sent you a private message, btw.

I currently live outside Kansas City and live about 25 miles from where I work. I really don't mind the commute. It looks like its 25 miles or so from the house to downtown....I can handle that. The traffic and drivers in KC are terrible, so I'm sure I will be fine in ALB.

I live about 40 miles north of boston and sleep during most of my commute. Taking a bus makes it fairly safe to be asleep.

You didn't find any properties with the metro area?

I've been going through rental agencies and craigslist and haven't found anything within my price range in a decent area. I've also had a hard time because we have multiple animals (cats and dogs).

I hear ya... pets make renting 10x more difficult.

Good luck on your move!

I have some experience in both places and your commute should not be anything like Kansas City because the highway system in Albuquerque is very simple compared to KC. And -- it seems like drivers in Albuquerque actually know how to drive. They seem to drive slower but they also seem to be in control of the car.

One problem will be getting across the river. That will take a little practice to determine the best route. There are not enough bridges.

Also I've noticed that drivers there tend to shadow you -- hang right on your left or right rear bumper and slow down or speed up whenever you do... What's that about??? I've seen that in Texas, too --- and its aggravating.

Am sure my husband could give you some pointers on the best way to get to downtown ABQ. He commutes from Rio Rancho to Osuna every day.
I am a person who does not like traffic, comes from living in the boonies of Maine. Anyway, traffic is here a breeze compared to Boston! You will get the ones who do not use turn signals, ect, but they are found everywhere.
