Nice link, thanks for posting it! A little over 1 mil in the ABQ metro isnt bad. Id love to live in a metro that only had 1 mil. Our area is forecasted to be over 10 mil. Ridiculous.

i am sorry, but I think we will hit 1 mil way before 2020. My guess is that we will hit the big 1 mil during 2012.

trailtramp will become famous soon enoughtrailtramp will become famous soon enough
What will they drink...water after it leaves the Intel Fabs??? Where will they work? Thats a couple hundred thousand more than now, there aren't that many call centers scheduled to open are there? One million and more will forever change the feel of the city...more sprawl, strip malls, fast food, cheaply built McMansions and tons of traffic, smog. None of the things that add any quality of life, just more bodies for the state government to tax and support! Oh, isn't growth bliss??

ABQRick is on a distinguished road
Why does everyone fear growth? Albuquerque at 1 million will probably not feel much different than it does today.

Sorry to be so blunt, but I grow weary of people who move here and immediately get upset at the thought of Albuquerque growing because they moved here to escape large city life. Also tire of locals who are adamant that the city stay the same and feel entitled because they have lived here a long time.

There are also plenty of good jobs out there other than call centers. Some of them just require that you have *gasp* education or experience. I would also hardly call our "sprawl" sprawl; go drive through Phoenix and reconsider.

We also have plenty of water, despite what many may think.

Okay, there's my rant for the day, feel much better now!
