Didn't one of his most recent posts say he had recently sold a house in the Heights?

I'm sorry to seem to have dumped the Forum. I didn't think
anyone would miss me, but I can see that I'm wrong <sniff>.
Being a hardheaded bombastic curmudgeon I would have
thought that people were kind-of getting sick of me what
with my support of rattlesnakes killing babies and such.
The reason I haven't been posting is because I determined
that I was having difficulty separating reality from
the virtual world.
I found myself thinking about what people in the City-Data
forums were writing while I was out walking or on my bike.
I was also thinking about stuff I was going to post.
Some people climb on here at midnight, read a bit, post
a bit and then get off as sort of a way to get to sleep.
City Data is not the real world.
I also found myself getting discouraged by people who
respond in unkind ways when I make a post that is trying
to be helpful.
One idiot, scolded me when I suggested cities other
than the one city that he was interested in. Later he
berated me for expressing my opinion on thread drift.
#> mortimer, I will say it again, we are retiring
#> to Albuquerque, not Tucson, not Snake Gulch, ...
Since I am not naming names, but everyone here knows
who it is, I'll just say that I think he's a pinhead
tiny-brained chump. He's been out of NM for months,
but is still currently active in other threads.
Later, another moron became absolutely irate when I asked
him why he wanted to be close to the RR station. I asked
the question in the spirit of trying to determine what
he was looking for. The thread died after that because
it was apparent that trying to help this guy might get
a similar berating. He hasn't posted in Albuquerque since
July, but he's been fouling up Connecticut as recently as
November.
#> Excuse me for not understanding policy here.
#> I wasn't aware it was necessary to explain why ...
#> I was hoping only for more balanced information from
#> folks here who are not trying to sell you something.
Finally, I got backhanded by a racist creep who came on
the Albuquerque board portraying herself as a victim
who was concerned about crime. When I suggested that
crime is everywhere, this is what I got in a personal DM:
#> ... police here are often akin (and I mean a kin)
#> of the gang members ...
+----------------------------------------------------+
she means here that Hispanic members of the police
force are sympathetic to Hispanic gangs *because* _
they are Hispanic (i.e. she thinks "they" are all _
the same) _________________________________________
+----------------------------------------------------+
#> Clearly, you are in denial or Hispanic or both.
#> No, bands of roaming Hispanic gangs are not
#> everywhere in this country.
+----------------------------------------------------+
she means here that if you are Hispanic, then you _
are likely to be OK with Hispanic gang activity ___
+----------------------------------------------------+
#> Have you been everywhere? Have you lived coast to
#> coast and in Western Europe. Well, I have. This
#> is not everywhere.
+------------------------------------------------------+
This is consistent with a common theme among posters
wanting to make sure how important they are before __
they get to their point. Some of her posts had this _
+------------------------------------------------------+
#> am a freelance writer (advertising creative director burnout)
+------------------------------------------------------+
She just wants to make sure that others know how ____
truly important she is or was even though she is ____
now (working a) humble (occupation) - a common theme
that many posters use. ______________________________
+------------------------------------------------------+
#> Albq. has one of the highest property crime and
#> violent crime rates in the U.S. according to FBI ...
+------------------------------------------------------+
Unable to deal with real life (again), she's been ___
trolling the Oregon forums - looking for information
about Jacksonville where she can escape living with _
all those nasty non-whites. _________________________
+------------------------------------------------------+
#> What has made you such an expert anyway?
#> A student with little or no experience in life?
Ironically, she came on this forum as a poor innocent victim,
but she was just a hateful, nasty bigot who is now able, in
her mind, to be even more hateful, nasty, and bigoted. Like
it matters if the person holding a knife at you is of any
particular race.
I'm just got burned out on all this. After her DM, I was
so disgusted by all this that I couldn't bring myself to
want to post anything. It "felt" too distasteful.
I like the decent folk here - even if they always
disagree with me, but some of the whack-jobs, like the
three mentioned above, just made this stop being fun.
Perhaps I should contribute to one of my favorite subjects
again: the big 'steel-tired' and 'shiny-metal-road' bus
that is often referred to as "Light Rail" or spank a few
people who say insane things about the Railrunner (in the
correct thread, of course). -- Maybe I'll feel better.
I've lurked and read stuff from time-to-time, but no posts
since 08/05.
Tim Rankin asked:
> Didn't one of his most recent posts say he had recently
> sold a house in the Heights?
We bought a house back in June, 2007 - still there.
trailtramp suggested:
> Maybe enjoying the season in some warm tropical place
> lounging on a hammock?
There is no place I would rather be than NM. I moved back
here on purpose just to see the Sandias and such look
different every friggin' day.
I *have* been busy beefing up my skills with some programming
courses at our great, underappreciated local community college
the former TVI for the fall semester.
Recently, I obtained a part-time job as an accountant which
is a line of work I haven't been in since 1987. More courses
are planned for the winter semester.

You mean the other dicks besides me, right?
I proudly fall into that category.
