Mortimer - I am so sorry you got hurt by various and sundry morons -- but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't let them stop you from posting here.

We miss you -- and frankly you are such a breath of honest fresh air around here that it is hard not to miss you like crazy when you disappear.

I always suspected you would be back, Mortimer. By the way, you rec'd several nominations for high office on C-D here City-Data Presidential Candidate in case you want to know how people thought of you. I actually nominated you for president, however, if you continue to beat up on the Rail Runner I may have to withdraw that and nominate you for a cabinet level pos'n instead [and not the Sec'y of Transportation].

Tim Rankin warned:

Actually, I don't beat up on RR. I rail ( heh ) against how it
was executed and financed (citizens railroaded).

I also won't tolerate inflated claims regarding its success.

Since this is not the thread, I won't detail it here, but
go ahead and open one of the many RR threads and post
something I disagree with. See what happens.

I *am* on record stating that I would have voted for its initial
funding had I (we) been axed. I also voted for transit funding
just this last election.

I also *will* ride it to go to Santa Fe in the future and likely
not ever drive unless I'm going on to Taos or something.

I just don't understand people who send nasty DM's. I feel sorry for them, they must not have a life. Ignore them - hit the delete button. They aren't worth your effort.

Hi, Double H--I'm still around. I just got all worn out defending and/or pointing out positive things about Clovis. The people who hate the place have plenty to say so I thought I'd just let them say it. I decided to sum it up once and for all last September by saying come with a positive attitude and you will probably have a positive experience. Don't, and you won't. I figured there was no need to say anything else.

Happy New Year to you all!
