Interesting. I see Seattle is listed but I know many folks who are being laid off. As an apartment manager, I here the stories of people who are really hurting and scared about the future. I still don't think it would be safe to make a move to ABQ just yet either. I'm looking at it as a lesson in patience.
I'd say that Albuquerque's strengths lie with the variety in it's economic engine and the moderate housing prices. That said, we just went online with our new water source (off the Rio Grande down from the Colorado River basin) and the last panel on the matter said we're on a collision course between availability of and demand for that water. They pointed to the cities at Bandalier and Chaco as examples of previous groups that didn't realize they were leveraging a variable water supply at it's peak, leaving them terribly vulnerable to the following valley.
