Default Relocation to ALB

Hello:

Hubby, I and three dogs may be moving to ALB from Syracuse, NY. We're in our 40's no kids so schools aren't a concern. Husband may be working at the University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque - if we move will only have a quick visit before we move - any suggestions where to look for a home? Decent neigborhood where we can walk around is important, nice library, probably a house rather than a condo with the dogs but a smaller one in a safer neighborhood would be ideal - any input would be mighty appreciated - thank you so much!!

The Nob Hill area, near UNM, may meet your prerequisites.

You might want to check it out in the archives, as well as the current board.

It also depends on how much you want to spend, how far your husband wants to drive to work (nowhere in Albuquerque will be more than 30 minutes), whether or not being able to walk out your door and be able to walk into the foothills or just through a nice area (such as nmguy's suggestion). Do you want to be live in a newer neighborhood with newer construction or would you prefer the older style homes?

There are a lot of nice area's here in Albuquerque and I'm sure if you let us know a little more we could all suggest some places for you to look.

I may sound sarcastic ( and I usually am ), but I'm totally serious here:

Look in the Search box putting in search terms like [UNM] [hospital]
along with [Albuquerque], of course. Then read the many brilliant
posts by the regulars here and ask questions about the topics/threads
discussed there.
