Default Country Western Nightclubs

I don't like to go out to bars or nightclubs too much, but I DO love a good country western place with a nice dance floor that occasionally plays some top 40 stuff *and is appropriate for someone under 25*.

I haven't found anything like this in Albuquerque. Am I missing someplace? I'm willing to drive to another town if I need to! There's nothing like an unpretentious place to go and get swung around by a cowboy.

Thanks in advance!

Hi.

You should definitely contact Susan Kellogg!!... Susan is the president / co-founder of the Albuquerque Swing and Country Dance Club (AS&CDC) and in addition to publishing a AS&CDC newsletter, she also publishes "Local DanceNews and Beyond" - a bi-monthly e-newsletter that posts many types of dance-related activities in and around ABQ!

The AS&CDC website is Albuquerque Swing & Country Dance Club, Albuquerque, New Mexico
and her e-mail: glkello@nmia.com

Hopefully she can point you in the right direction and hope you find something that fits!

PS.. We are recent transplants to ABQ and my mother in law loves to dance...(mostly west coast swing) and thus, we got on Susan's email 'Local Dancenews and Beyond' newsletter and it's great to know how active a dancing (and variety of events) takes place in ABQ land.. (have yet to try anything yet... but give us some time!)

I read that you don't like the bars/clubs, but Graham Central Station isn't really too bad if you can look beyond the crowd. There are a many single regular guys there that love to dance and is all they ask for. We are early birds there so we miss the late night crowd. But early there is also a "dance club" that is there early on Friday nights you might also be able to hook up with them. They are always there and look like nice people.

Default type of music

Does anybody dance to music of Derailers, Wayne "the Train" Hancock,
Bastard Sons Of Johnny Cash, all good swing dance music, also check out
Meridith Moore, Big Nick and the Gila Monsters, Andy Hersey.
all these bands have myspace and some web sites where you can listen to there music
what places in albuquerque play this type of music, a little country and little blues

Boxerswon,

Have you tried asking your question to the contact I posted just above your post?

Perhaps email Susan at glkello@nmia.com.

Couldn't hurt!

Have fun!
