New Albuquerque-Name.
I heard there was a battle between Albuquerque and 'New Town' over who'd be named 'Albuquerque' and New Town settled for New Albuquerque.
Did it have any other names considered or in the pipeline upon incorporation?

I found this on Wikipedia. Does not answer the OP but helps us at least get some idea what the heck the OP meant. Look down in history. New Town was the area where the railroad came through, as opposed to Old Town. They did not merge for some time.

Interesting. It's a bit confusing. Maybe needs more research...

For those of you who may not be privey to New Mexico History, I think this happened in the 1880's - more than 100 years ago. The Old Albuquerque and New Albuquerque merged forming simply - Albuquerque!
