Alburquerque for Kids. (amusement park, high schools, live in)

Are there any family theme restaurants in ABQ? Chuck Cheese, etc. How are the little tyke sporting events? My son will be turning four if we move out next year and I would like to get him involved in either baseball or football. I'm more concerned with the types of activities that are available for young ones. I know ABQ has a zoo which is a big plus for me.

There are chuck-e-cheeses. There is also something called Itz, which I have never been to but my son has and likes it.

If you get a pass for the zoo, it also includes the aquarium and botanical gardens.

There are plenty of youth sports type stuff. YAFL does football, and there is flag football as well, and I am sure parks and rec or "little League" does baseball (tball). I don't live in the city so I am not familiar with who runs the programs but they are definitely there. The high schools also have swim teams so swimming is something you should be able to find year-round.

There are also a bunch of gyms for gymnastics. And many martial arts schools.

The zoo, aquarium, botanic gardens, Tingley Beach for fishing (they have one pond just for little kids), many family themed restaurants. There is alot for kids from ages 2 to 102.

We have been to Itz and it was a lot of fun. Our group was all ages and everyone found something fun.

Oh you know something else I also just remembered: the gymnastics schools often do a saturday night parents' night out. My kids have a blast.

I'd add in Cliff's amusement park, the Explora! science museum, a number of miniature golf places, Hinkle family fun center (a little of everything) and a fair number of parks and trails.

Thank you for the feedback folks. Where we currently live, other than sports, there really isn't any activities for kids. All the big attractions are down in the city.

Definitely! lot's of hands on experiments including a miniature representation of the Rio Grande river's meandering (you get to build the riverbed, play with rate of flow and direction and see the resulting erosion.) and a giant lincoln log set on the roof (It's fully fenced, but under the sun, so bring sunscreen for the tots.). The interactivity between the kids as the get excited about building stuff is fun to watch.
