Totally agree.

Its possible he may not want green chile.

If you want New Mexican cuisine pour boiled green chiles on Mexican food, add a spoonfull of well boiled squash (dump the squash any where there is room on the plate) preferibly in a pool of the afore mentioned boiled green chiles. YUMMY

PS there is a reason you don't see green chile anywhere else and its not because you can't get it.

jghoo, you aren't eating good NM food if the chiles are boiled. As far as the squash, that's a pretty infrequent accompaniment to NM food. Normally you'll find beans and rice or papas.

exactly, many of us would just as soon eat green chili as eat anything, but some prefer a good bar-b-que or maybe even green eggs and ham

Split the difference. Go to a New Mexican place and have the Carne Adovada. It's pulled pork marinated in NM red chile.

Does anyone know of a locally owned BBQ restaurant in Albuquerque doing Carolina style?

Or my personal favorite -- posole.

Stick with Rudy's. The prices are decent and the food is good.

I moved to CO a few years ago but my family still lives there. Everytime I go down to visit, I have to eat some good BBQ at this whole in the wall restaurant called Johndi's. It used to be known as Geezamboni's but I think the owner recently went thru a divorce and changed the name. Its located off of Candelaria and Rio Grande. Check it out, its not too far from downtown.

After getting BBQ in ABQ, have some DQ to enhance your IQ. Don't buy QQQ.

p.s. Carne Adovada is an awesome dish. It's my #2 after Posole.

I hope not. I dream of opening a Carolina style BBQ shack in my next city, which very well may be ABQ. Vinegar, please.
