Misc. nad probably some silly questions, for NMers from a newbie
HI! First off, I LOVE ABQ. So glad I moved here! What a cool place!
But now for some silly and random questions:
1) Does ABQ use Craigslist? I see some but I also noticed a lot of ads in the ABQ Journal, which seems to mean CL isnt seeing its full potential. Being from NYC, I expect everyone to use CL first but having recently been in Buffalo, Ive seen that a lot of people dont even know about using CL. So...which is it? Where's the best place to view/place local ads? (I'm looking for quite a few things - much furniture and a car)
2) Is there a place to casually (aka not go to a chain store) pick up a New York Times? As in, at a coffee shop instead of driving to Barnes and Noble or whatever.
3) Whats the best sunblock? I have skin that is fine w/o anything ("blessed" peeps in other climates might say), but the second I put moisturizer on it for even two days in a row, it breaks out. Here in NM its dry and I know I need to apply sunblock here but when I do, I break out same as always (Aveda I use now) Does anyone know skin like mine and have a suggestion for something that doesnt make one break out but protects from football skin at the same time?
Also been trying to find an atomizer at the drugstores; inexplicably in Walgreens the sales girl led me to the candy aisle and told me theyd "have them soon." (Your guess is as good as mine as to what she thought I was talking about.)
4) I have more questions but I tried to pick the ones that google wouldnt be able to answer objectively. Thanks for your time.

Welcome!
I have one answer about your skin. I have really sensitive skin, so I use an organic product called Eminence that can be purchased online or at Cabo Sunrise Salon and Spa:
Cabo Sunrise Salon & Spa :: Welcome to Cabo Sunrise Salon and Spa...
If you have the money, and are willing to do it, go see the Esthetician, Rachel, who knows everything. When I moved here from California in August, I went to see her to find the best Eminence products for this climate and my skin, and she set me right up. She'll also know what skin block will be the best. She is friendly and super helpful .. and willing to answer questions over the phone.
About a cafe: I think Flying Star has the NYT .. I know they carry many magazines and newspapers, but I'm not entirely positive. Satellite might have the NYT, but I haven't seen it there.

I love Craigslist, I use it all the time, to sell, to buy and to advertise, and I have used it since I moved here just over three years ago. There are a lot of people who do not know what CL is or are not willing to trust it because of all the scams but I personally love it. The Alibi has online ads as does the Journal but I always find that people ask for higher prices there.

1. Yes, quite an active Craiglist
2. Starbucks is where I usually see the NYT ( you can also subscribe, I believe )
3. I use something by a company called DDF. It's pricey, but they have it at Sephora which leads me to
4. Sephora ( Coronado Mall ) should have an atomizer.

Ah Starbucks, they do always come through with the NYTs! I mostly read it online but like to have the paper version on Tuesdays for the Science Times. Plus, the puzzle only comes in the paper version - otherwise you have to pay to get it online.
I'll look up the Coronado Mall and the places the other posts mentioned for skin stuff. I'm a little limited these days to things within biking distance (I'm in Nob Hill).
As for the CL question, seems like the best bet is to use everything - the Alibi, the Journal and CL. I guess its nice to know that CL hasnt completelytaken away those two papers' ad $ (yet.)

Winnings coffeeshop in UH has the Times 7 days a week. There is a magazine shop on Central, right around the corner that carries it as well.
The best sunblock is clothing and shade. After that, get a high SPF and one with a moisturizer as well.
