Austin or Albuquerque? (Santa Fe, Rio Rancho, Los Alamos: home, salary, to live in)

Austin. Parents raised me in Albuq, while in the service I found out really fast what a crappy place Albuq was and is. Lived in Rio Rancho for a few years, have been back to see the old homestead and to my disbelief looks like morons have moved in to the whole neighborhood. Wouldn't live anywhere around Albuq or NM for that matter. Do yourself a favor, don't move to NM

actually Albuquerque has more professional and phd graduates than any other city. Albuquerque is known for the food, no other place compares except santa fe, Have you ever been to Albuquerque?

All I have to say about all of this is ==> I prefer ALBUQUERQUE BY FAR!!!!!!

...unless you want your kids to live in a bubble where minorities and diversity may not be accepted.

My experiences in almost all of Texas have been miserable!

I think both cities have their pros and cons. Both cities are very different and unique. I think Albuqueruqe would fit me better than Austin (coming from a Santa Fe resident) due to its southwestern charm and laid back attitude.

and I was about to ask the same thing? Abq has a lot to offer and we sometimes miss living there, but PHDs I don't think is one of them.

I do remember, many years ago, NM had the richest and the poorest counties. Of course Los Alamos being the richest, so perhaps what was meant, was per capata NM has the most PHDs. That I could believe..

These threads kill me....how can one person tell another not to live in a place because he dosent like it ????
