This intrigues me. Where might one go to observe passive gang activity? Perhaps in the more southern portions of town, since the active gangsters apparently reside on the north side. Should I look for particular taggings or just ask around for the South Side Cansados et al.?

Chap

I also was raised in the NE heights. I now live in the Unser/Arenal area. The cul-de-sac I live in is nice and quiet, but trust me, there is exponentially more gang activity in the SW compared to the NE heights.

The best areas of ABQ: Corrales, Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, everything north of Montgomery and east of Wyoming, and the pocket area called Ridgecrest. Leave everywhere else to the riff-raff and the middle-class...

These are not part of Albuquerque. But, hey, what do I know. I don't live in any of the areas you mentioned so I am obviously just riff raff or middle class.

Sure they are. They are not part of the incorporated city, but if you live in one of those burgs and you are anywhere out of the state ( or even most of this state ) and someone asks you where you are from, you're going to say ( if you are smart ) "I'm from Albuquerque."

It's like that everywhere.

I'm from Aurora ( Denver )
I'm from Lansdowne ( Philly )
.... and so on ...
