I've got some red meat-eatin' friends coming into town in a couple of weeks and was thinking about taking them to Vernon's Steakhouse, located behind the Calico Cafe on 4th Street.
Can anyone who's eaten there give me a yea or a nay?
definetly one of my favs. the way the restraunt is set up it a good time from start to finish. and the food is perfect for the red meat eaters that visit. try the steak and lobster. and the have the best batrender.
I ate at Vernon's last night and loved it. It's a cozy, hide-away place with a gas fireplace in one corner. The food was exceptional. The sauces on the beautiful steaks are "to die for". And the service was outstanding. I can't wait to go back.

We want to eat there but don't know where it's located.
Go north on 4th street form Osuna. Calico cafe is on the west side of the road just up from Osuna I think the side street is Tyler. Vernons is in the back.
Do you remember Sal's liquors? They tore down Sal's a few years ago and put this stuff in it's place.
It sucks. Too expensive. (Manhattan is cheaper.) And the pretense is thick. 30something for a mediocre steak. The whole place is in a low rent strip mall in a remote part of town. Run away, run away...
Wow at least 4 people joined the forums just to post about this place.
Why am I suspicious?
