They probably ARE gang members, kids of gang members carrying on the family tradition.
My husband and I went to see "The Hangover" this weekend, funny movie but full of so much that made it innappropriate for kids. Saw two couples ( practically stereotypes...dad in big baggy shorts, sports jersey, backwards hat, gold jewelery and mom dressed like a stripper ) with very very young ( about 3 or 4 and about 8 years old ) children in the theatre.
I don't want my kid having these kids as classmates. Their parents are incapable of making basic decisions for them, do you think they're reading "Good Night Moon" to them every night at 8:30 like we do? Odds are, these kids are going to grow up to be thugs just like their parents.
I pretty much hate going to movies here, by the way. It's like a magnet for bangers.

Wanna-be Gang Members more like. Kids at that age are still growing up.

I know what you are saying,I heard a couple of parents at the Isotopes game telling their kids to throw elbows if there is any pushing going on trying to get an autograph from Manny Ramirez.
I do know of a few kids that have mouths on them that most adults dont even have. I know this 5 year old kid(my cousins kid) who will cuss you out, he talks about sex and what he wants to do to a girl and this kid is only 5. Some of the younger parents think its funny though if their kids cuss and usually encourage it.
I see no discipline in kids now days, I pick up a few hours in a departent store and these moms just let their kids run all around jumping on things and pulling everything off the shelves and throwing footballs accross the store, I guess as long as they arnt bugging her while she is shopping then its cool with her. If that were me I would have been spanked for acting up like that.

OK, serious, no bull question...
Where ARE those neighborhoods? I lived in the South Valley 40 years ago off Isletta
and thought that (at that time) it was a nice, lower middle income, working class,
blue collar neighborhood where guys mowed the lawn, washed their cars on Saturday,
dressed neatly, worried about their kids' homework, etc., etc., in short, Pleasantville
with a Spanish flavor.
I haven't seen that in the drives I've taken through the valley since we returned.
Could you describe where these nice areas are?

Frankly, I think that if a kid is five, and if this behavior is coming from and encouraged by the parents, the kid should be removed from the home.

The South Valley is nice.. I even like the new housing developments up there, I used to live there and everyone is so nice.. I live Near Ventana West now and no way are the people as friendly.. they just care for their yards alot more.

From what I have seen of the South Valley, most homes are either old, with barred windows and sitting on large lots that the owner has filled up with rusting old cars or new in developments covered with grafitti and For Rent/Sale signs. Where are the neighborhoods as nice as Ventana West?

Ventana West is all New Stuff and safe as of now..
I was talking about those new developments in the South Valley, Many were added to the city limits.
I cant use the software I have at work to show you a better picture, so just go to BING.COM/MAPS to see the area.
Ventana West, is part old, part new...

I'm aware of Ventana West, we live around Unser/Irving so we're practically neighbors. You did not buy in the S Valley...you went north like we did.
I was referring to the question about nice areas in the South Valley. Most of the new developments S of I-40 are already full of grafitti, weeds, for sale/rent signs etc. We looked at our builder's development down there and it was priced about 20% lower. They were closing out that development as well as ours at the same time. Their model home was already trashed and that development looks really bad there, compared to ours which is still nicely landscaped, not as much of a weed problem, no grafitti. It will be interesting to see how those S of I-40 areas look in 5 years.
