oh, one more thing, I think it was called Fosters Donuts; in is in Glendora California or was and has been written up for their great donuts. They had this one kind, huge (too much for one person usually) and topped with fresh strawberrie or fresh peaches..OMG< worth every minute in line.

karmathecat, Albertsons took over raileys, not Smith.... just fyi.
I agree, I'd love to see a Nordrstroms--not super highend like Barneys or Niemans, but higher end. I'd also like to see a Brooks Brothers (but I don't see too many people frequenting $1000 suits) and I'd like to see an H&M.
I'd love to see a new seafood restaurant in town...I really miss Seagull Street!!!

No, I worked for MCI in Arlington, DC and Tysons on and off from 82 through 95. I went to work for MCI the day they officially absorbed Satellite Data System from IBM.
I gather you're an ex-MCIer?
Remember the 10-10-220 long distance calling service? I developed that for MCI back in 86 only then it was called 10-triple xxx because you only needed to dial a single 10.

Wow. Small world Mike. Does the MCI Service called "Execunet" sound familiar to you?-- HA. Back in 1979, I worked for MCI /15th St Washington NW DC- in a call center where we issued 'access codes' for new (and expanding) national Execunet business clients.. Boy does that bring back memories. It was just a summer stint for me...
OK.. back on the original track of this thread- "Waiting lines"...

I can't think of a single store or restaurant I'd be willing to stand in a line for.
OTOH, I would stand in line for Trace Adkins tickets. Oh yeah.

I'd stand in line for a restaurant that's instead of "kids eat free" or "kids $1.99 AYCE" it's "kids pay extra".

Kids pay Xtra....now thats a strategy!
Nordstrom won't come...they don't understand the Torrid market very well.
I'd like to see Houstons, Ruths Chris, McCormick & Schmicks. Might be awhile.
