All those little "pull-outs" are within a couple hundred feet of the University Blvd. exit.

If you really need park and wait for a cell phone call, waiting in the parking lot of a nearby hotel would add only a minute or so to the time it would take to pick up your party at the arrivals level. It would probably also be faster than using the "designated" parking mentioned by Poncho_NM.

ABQ tip:

In the morning, drop off your passengers at the lower, "Arrivals" area where there are likely to be no other cars within 100 feet of you rather than use the upper "Departures" area. This also helps you start off your day without interacting with inconsiderate jerks who think it's OK to block YOU in - disgorging their passengers whilst taking their sweet time about it.

In the evening, likewise, it might be easier to pick up your "arrivals" in the upper "Departures" area than it will be to negotiate lost and confused picker-uppers in the lower, "Arrivals" area. It's generally not so busy in the PM on the upper deck.

Just to be clear:
The upper deck is the "Departures" area where people are dropped off.
The lower deck is the "Arrivals" area where people are picked up.

Be a rebel. Flaunt convention. Do the opposite.
