Default Visiting Abq on the 4th - Any ideas?!

I'm making my yearly trek over to visit my brother and his family.

Will have my pregnant wife and potentially his 4 kids to take into consideration (6-10)

In the past we've rode the tram, visited around the university, visited the old town part of the city, gone to the zoo, watched the isotopes and subsequent fireworks and hit a variety of parks

We are set on our fireworks spot (although hoping for better weather than the past couple of years)

Just wondering if there are some other options for local things to see / do.

My brother has lived there for a long time and his wife is a native so they usually have a pretty good idea ........ but always ask if there is anything I want to do that they may not be thinking of

since i don't know the area I don't know if there is anything that would be neat to check out that I just don't know about

many thanks

Zoidberg is just really niceZoidberg is just really niceZoidberg is just really niceZoidberg is just really niceZoidberg is just really niceZoidberg is just really niceZoidberg is just really niceZoidberg is just really nice
Options:

Drive up to Sandia peak the back way and watch the fireworks at night
Go to Kirtland's annual fireworks show
Go to Rio Rancho's annual fireworks show (it's actually quite good)

Any of the others use listed sound fun and worth doing again too.

futureperfect5 is on a distinguished road
Default I think of New Mexico ...

as a place that you could drive to any location with a cooler full of beverages, set up a grill and make a party in minutes.

I could be wrong, but give it a try ...the people (for me) have been very approachable and friendly.
