Carl's Jr. and Hardee's are ostensibly the same outfit, more or less. They use the same smiling star, jockey for the most bad-cholesterol per dollar spent, and seem to change names around the Mississippi river.
Anyone remember the Hardee's next to Winrock mall?

Sorry, I think I am have In and Out withdrawals seeing that here in Indiana we have no good burger joints

JC, welcome to the NM board. I read you on the Ca board a lot. The reason and we lived in Ca from the start of InNout: The original family had no intentions of going national or even much expansion. They were content to stay in So Ca, but as younger family members take over ideas have changed, like everything else. the two things things that keep them so popular 1-freshness and 2-simple consistant menu. If they change either of these, they will loose what they have worked so hard to build. I think as the warehouses are built we will see expansion. Yes, we too miss them. It is like Trader Joes, they have gone from coast to coast but nothing in the middle of the country. It hurts. One of the things I did this past week in NM was enjoy my time at Trader Joes. Rumor is: 3-5 years and they will be in Texas. If that holds true we will see them everywhere.
NOw, IN n Out and Trader Joes, take note, the heartland of our country
WANTS YOU!!!!!!!!

Krystal Burger, White Castle, Royal Castle, Roy Roger's why aren't they everywhere? (If anybody in the Southest hs even heard of them).
Heck, Sonic has been around since 1945 and there are states where they are not located. Same with Carl Jr's, been around since the 40's and I think they are all west of the Mississippi River.

I kind of hope they do open some In-N-Out franchises here.
Then the wait for my order at Blake's might not be as long.

you are so right and think they are very different even though they are owned by the same company.

I don't remember that one, but I remember the one on 4th street. It's now a Teriyaki Chicken Bowl.

This again, proves how subjective food can be. I have eaten at Sonic many times, but I don't think their food is very good, hamburgers are often cold, everything is chopped so you get almost no onions, lettuce etc and the buns are soggy. I do like their breakfasts as far as fast food goes. We all have ideas about what a particularly food should taste like.
Heck I am getting ready to have hubby grill a pork loin. What is in the rub? horseradish mustard, OJ, lime pepper, lots of chopped garlic and a little honey. Some people would think I had gone nuts, others would eat the whole thing just for the rub..

It kind of makes sense that they would start in Rio Rancho since Rio Rancho has more transplants than most parts of the metro area, many of them being Californians. That way they have less competition from those native and long term Albuquerqueans who are loyal to Blake's, Griff's, The Frontier, etc.
That said, it's a shame because I'd like to give them a try but there is no way I'm wasting gas or time to eat a hamburger all the way over in Rio Rancho. I'll just fire up my grill.
