OK, ABQeans...you have one meal, and one meal only before you die. The caveat? You MUST eat it at one of these prominent ABQ-area local fast food chains only (and saying "no" isn't an option!!). Which would you enjoy your last meal at:
Bob's Burgers
Blake's Lottaburger
Mac's Steak in the Rough
Griff's
Twister's
I voted for Mac's, they have some good cheeseburgers and steak finger dinners.
I have never tried Griff's but I recall you mentioning it in a few other posts Enjoy EP so I think I will have to try it out next time I'm in the area.
Im not a fan of Bobs Burgers but I do like their taco burgers.
The Mac's Steak in the Rough just East of Cottonwood died years ago. And a good thing. It was replaced by an "Owl", which unfortunately recently died.
Most Twister's have good hamburgers, there are a few exceptions...
We discovered that if you order the $1.29 hamburger at Carl Juniors, and tell them to leave it alone, do not put that nasty sauce on it, you end up with a decent burger.
Fuddruckers has a good burger:
But you can't beat Blakes Lottaburger hamburgers and their Milkshakes/Malts:
Yeah, I think you are right bradly. I was kind of being a donkey's rear-end with the Bob's Fish N' Chips and the Pop N' Taco references...never ate at either...they just always looked kind of gross / bizarre as I would fly by them on Central Ave.!
I am shocked thus far that the only fast food joint not receiving a vote is Twister's! I thought they actually had a pretty good following in ABQ! I am also surprised that Blake's is running away with this thus far...where it the love for Bob's or Mac's!!?
This was a tough decision! Like others, I enjoy something from each one of the places. I was torn between the tortilla burger from Bob's and the taquitas from Steak in the rough. In the end I chose Steak in the Rough. It's not the same place when I was a kid, but when I get a chance to eat there (maybe once or twice a year) I still remember those days when my mom would take me there. Love ya mom!
Like ABQLifer said, they all bring nice choices to the table, but...
It came down to Griff's and Blake's. What actually put Lotaburger over the top for me is their chili cheese dogs. Both places have great burgers and such, but I figure if I'm gonna kick the bucket anyway I might as well load up!
I like Mac's OK, but I guess I'm more partial to the sit-down Mac's La Sierra on W. Central than the other ones around town.
Chap
