The hubby and I are coming in on Saturday morning for a couple days. Just trying to get a "feel" for the city, check out neighborhoods, and generally have a good time.
Any recommendations on what we should do this weekend? Any festivals going on? Anything we should experience to get a taste of life in Abq?
As olaverty mentioned, the biggest thing going on locally/regionally in the Santa Fe Indian Market. While technically not an ABQ event, it is one of the bigger regional happenings. If you want to avoid traffic, you may want to try the Rail Runner.
If you want to stay local, its hard to beat a night at the ballpark. The Isotopes are in town, and there should be plenty of good seats available.
All are easy to get and in Albuquerque, more or less at your own pace, yea a drive to Taos for example is nice if you like the drive and have the time...

This place looks great...unique. That's what we like! We're a little younger than 40+ though Is there a patio to eat on here? We LOVE our patios! Especially when it's not 100+ temps outside!
Don't if you're willing to drive a bit, but we are heading up to Santa Fe to check out the Indian Market this weekend, looks like fun.
This does sound interesting, and I know the drive isn't really that far, but would like to stay in Albq. this trip. We only have a few days, and the main reason for our visit to is determine whether we're willing to move there in about a year (for a job).

There's a patio. You'll also be close to the Tram.
I love that The County Line offers honey-butter for their rolls.
