Default 4th of July

Hi. I'll be visiting your amazing-sounding city on Independence Day and was wondering where the best places for watching fireworks are. I'll be staying downtownish and will be relying on bus transporation and/or my own two feet, so the closer to there the better. There wasn't much in my visitor's guide about this. Thanks!

Paperclip....they always have a large show out here at Kirtand AFB. Taking the Bus as you mentioned i'd assume taking the bus up Central to Wyoming then up Wyoming to the Base Gate. Its about 10 miles or less from downtown....

Angry No public transportation on Freedom Fourth .

Tough luck paperclip .....the city will only be providing shuttles for those who already have vehicles .
No provision whatsoever will be made for citizens who cannot reach the 2 mall locations on the North of Albuquerque . You will discover on your trip here that bus transportation is very limited for a city of this size and is geared more as a supplement to car-owners than to provide a true network for non-owners . Service stops extremely early on most routes ...please be aware of this ,or with the extreme heat here , you could be endangering your health if you miss your connection. A narrow corridor of the city is served by " Rapid Ride " but this will only take you from downtown to shopping malls on the North and South end of the city .Only a few connections exist after 6pm and no evening service on Sunday .
Albuquerque public transportation is suited for city workers and very few others .
Good travels .... and understand that "Freedom Fourth " is available for drivers only .

I would say take rapid ride to the mall, and then take the shuttle to Balloon Fiesta park. They say they are having a huge show tonight. Best of Luck!

Not sure if the train is running today or not.

Default Fireworks

If you want an amazing view of the state's biggest fireworks show, just go to Loma Colorado Park In Albuquerque's Rio Rancho. The park opens at 3:30 p.m. and the fireworks start at 9:15 p.m. If you are curious about other free events in Albuquerque, just look through a copy of Albuquerque the Magazine- It will help you out!
