Default Pot Smoking on RRHS Bus

www.KOB.com - Mom: Pot smoking a problem on school bus (http://www.kob.com/article/stories/S1106685.shtml?cat=516 - broken link)

This is why I drive my child to school. It's not a new problem, just a sad one.

Seems like the 70's all over again.
Maybe I'm a little jaded but it sounds like the woman in the article is a little obsessed with this. Kids ahve been doing this for years with whatever drug happened to be "hip". She could make better use of her pent up energy and push for legalization and education.

I'm making a bet that pretty much everyone in there life has done some kind of drug. Not that I'm for it, but it's a part of life for most people. Whether they be legal or illegal, a drug is a drug.
Most kids learn there drug habits and other bad habits from there parents.

I don't know why this shocks anyone much. I'm not saying that I'm in favor of high school students smoking pot, but you must know some will, although a bus seems like a particularly dumb place to do it. It seems to me that they may have done it just to see whether or not they could get away with it.

I'm shocked! I thought this only happened back in the 20'-40's 50's and 60's plus the 70's, 80's and 90's and only in Albuquerque, America, Europe, Australia and everywhere else!

That said, "Kids, stay away from the reefer. Only dopes smoke dope." ;-)

I'm all for legalization, but what if the substance that was being
smoked on the bus was a Marlboro? Lawsuits would have been
already been filed for poisoning by second-hand smoke.

Cigarettes are legal, but not for minors, so any legalization issue
is probably irrelevant in this case. Whenever weed becomes legal
it's never going to be legal for high schoolers.

Also irrelevant, but I'll bring it up: Chewing tobacco is also not legal for
minors ( isn't it? ). I'm guessing that gets done a lot on the school bus.

I am opposed to kids smoking anything. Smoking is bad for the lungs. They should learn to bake the pot into chocolate (a legal drug) chip cookies. No smoke, no fire, no problem but a very nice high.

I saw one of the sitcoms that seems to think that brownies work well also.

I can't really imagine someone smoking it on a bus other than wanting attention.

Interestingly, this just began to occur after Rio Rancho Public Schools chose not to renew their contract with Durham School Services and operate the school bus system in-house.
