Does anybody live up in that area (anybody on this forum)?

Are HOAs the standard, or are there homes that don't require one?

Anybody know what that little gated community with the slightly modern looking homes is called? (The new neighborhood on Academy... a few hundred yards from Tramway)

What's the best way to commute to Downtown from up there?

Which school district is that in?

Aren't you glad I didn't say banana?

Thank you for the help!

(2) There is some real new construction on Cortaderia.
Is that what you mean?

(3) The #93 Academy Express bus is the cheapest.
Driving ==> there isn't a good way because Academy
dumps you out on San Mateo.

Driving N to Paseo and then getting on I-25 is a pain.

Going down to I-40 is a pain too since it takes you way far South.

(These "pains" are only "Albuquerque pain" so not too significant.)

Yeah... I think it's on Cortaderia (or very near).

The homes had the standard stacked stone facades(Think Tamaya)... they were behind a 10'-ish wall, with a bronze/brown gate. Looking at a High Desert map... is it called The Enclave?

Anyhow, they looked nice.

Maybe I'll head back over there after work to snap some photos.

Rybert, I have a second home in High Desert. It's a nice neighborhood with great schools and hiking, plus the views are tremendous.

You know, I am not too sure. Are you looking to buy one? I'll gladly sell you mine.

Tramway to Paseo; Paseo to I-25; I-25 south to MLK; MLK to downtown to Anodyne.

High school is La Cueva, maybe Eldorado. Middle school is Eisenhower or Desert Ridge. Elementary is Georgia O'Keeffe or Double Eagle.

It's La Cueva, I was showing a house there earlier this year. HOA's are on all the properties in the gated area but as I remember not that high.

Thanks everybody!

Yeah, I'm an expert on all things middle-class. The wealthy areas scare me.

We drove up there again today, the development is called The Legends (stupid name, I know).

Apparently all of the homes there (@ The Legends) have basements (neat feature for ABQ).

They were pretty cute little southwest-modern homes.

rybert's knowledge is indeed, vast - deep and broad.

Yet, I have found a certain humility in the lad.
He is able to admit, yes, "stupidity" and gaps in his knowledge
when such things rear their ugly head on this forum.

Still, I often come to the well of rybert knowledge to drink.

My impression is that what they have is a "man-room"/"slob-room."
It is a 15 x 40 ft. or so room with access just at the back of the garage
where a guy ( slob ) like me could have all of my ( nasty ) crap stored
in a place that I would enjoy going where my spousal unit would not
want to go and would not complain about. Cool in the summer, warm
in the winter and a secure location for valuables. You could play music
loud and not disturb anyone.

Oh yeah; above this great and powerful room there is also a house.
I forget what that was like, but I think it was nice.

Spousal units will be begging to enter the basement/mancave/slob-room when High Desert experiences its next severe, downslope wind event...

Rybert: Address Query - City of Albuquerque Input the home's address & the assigned schools pop right up.

@ Mortimer: That's exactly what I was thinking... a basement of my very own (for general laziness and clutter capturing). They had a Model home open, but we did not have the time to drop-in. The development may have stalled (see: recession).

@ Tim: Thanks for the link.

@ everybody: Found a link:
