You will also find a lot just east of Tramway mostly between Menaul & Lomas. Go east on Rover and look around those streets you will find that mostly they are rentals and as yukon mentioned most prefer to just put up signs.

The ones I looked at when I first moved here, in this area, were REALLY nice. Not sure where in the SE you'll be working, but it's a straight shot from this whole area down Tramway to Central, also only a few minutes down Menaul to whatever N/S cross street you need.

Thank you everyone! I have always preferred to rent from smaller indie landlords as I find the mega management companies to be very stringent and charge for every single thing. I just didn't know how to go about finding the mom-and-pop ones from way over here in Oregon.

It may indeed be a good idea to just get a P.O. Box in ABQ (since I won't have an address to forward mail to yet) and stay at good old Motel 6. :-) I will check out Overlook Apartments though too.

Everything regarding the possible job near the Air Force base is iffy right now in terms of timing. My gut tells me that I'll be moving mid December...but really not sure yet.

Peace,
Atheria

You could try craigslist.org or abqjournal.com while you are still in Oregon.

I think it would be easier to just buy a house. :-) That's only half a joke. I am excited by the prospect that I could actually afford to buy something in ABQ.

:-)

Maybe you should look into the idea, there are some real bargains at the moment and you still have time to cash in on the $8k tax credit.
