Default Poll 2 - Which movie theater chain should come to Rio Rancho?

We know that the new Villages at Rio Rancho will include a movie theater, so I decided to do a second poll: Which theater chain should it be?

My vote is AMC Theatres. I think this would be the perfect opportunity for them to enter the market that is otherwise dominated by Regal and Cinemark.

I noticed you didn't have Magic Johnson Theaters.

My vote goes for Madstone (other). They were great when they were in Burque and it was a damn shame they went under.

I also vote for AMC, if for nothing else, that good for one year soda cup.

Don't forget a poll for what mattress store should open up, my vote is the Craft-matic adjustable bed store.

There is absolutely no way Madstone will come back, since they went out of business. I don't see any way they would be resurrected.

Also, I am pretty sure that most Rio Rancho residents would want a more general-purpose theater. Madstone was mostly an upscale, niche theater. I would expect that the new theater will have several modern amenities, such as stadium-style seating and digital projectors.

I wonder how many screens this new theater will have though. Although I think Rio Rancho could theoretically support a 24-screen theater, the megaplex building binge is long gone, and it is now rare for the theater chains to build any theaters with more than 20 screens. I would expect that this theater will have about 15-20 screens.

Has it already been agreed upon that this new theatre should have 1/2 IMAX screens?

I do not really care who comes in. If it is a private company who takes all the risk for a chance at the rewards I will support them at least once. It is totally up to them if I give them anymore support.

I haven't heard anything about this theater having an IMAX. However, at Winrock, Regal will be replacing the existing UA Winrock 6 theater with a new 16 screen theater + IMAX.
