Default Activities for teens....

I am considering a move to Albuquerque or Santa Fe, NM with my teenage daughter (14) within the next year. Does the city of Albuquerque or the city of Santa Fe have activities or controlled sports (leagues) to keep 14-year olds busy throughout the year? My daughter really enjoys team sports (field hockey, soccer) as well as swimming, music and hanging out with friends, etc. What safe neighborhoods would be best to ensure she is able to participate in the available activities, if there are some? Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Seriously though, Albuquerque has a lot of Soccer going on. There are several clubs and I think the largest is Albuquerque United. Anyone know why they use the Welsh flag as their emblem??

Albuquerque - Official City Website

Look through there. And google. And the yellow pages.

It's been 20 years since I was a teen and 5 years since I've been in Albuquerque but I always found stuff to do, and times can't have changed that much.

ymca, but no seriously, are you keeping her homeschooled? because i'd think public school would keep her busy all year long, along with school activities and hanging with friends.

Thanks so much for the responses. I am sure my daughter and I will figure it all out within the next 6-8 months before we depart for Albuquerque. We are excited about our move and can't wait to explore the city and surrounding areas.
