Speaking of lines, I just saw on the news that people are lined up outside (it's about 9:30PM) for the 5 AM opening tomorrow.

Hmm.

Sure, I'm jonesing for a good doughnut. But it's supposed to snow, and it's quite cold, and even if the weather were optimal, seriously, it's a DOUGHNUT. Calm down, people.

I know they're probably going to be giving out prizes, but even a year's worth of free doughnuts, it's not worth it in my opinion.

I heard that sleet coming down at 5am and decided that toast would be good enough
for this morning...

KK's reopening has become a running joke in my house and with some friends so
I'd really thought about going there and buying a dozen to give to friends just as
a goof, but not in this weather...

Since we had a delayed school day, my husband and son went to KK this morning around 9:15. They waited about 15 minutes which wasn't too bad. If the line had been outside, they would have just come home and tried another day.

I went around 3:00 and the line was out the door and the drive through was in the street, normally I wouldnt wait in a line that long but I crave donuts with energy drinks so I had to have some, anyways the line moved pretty quick.

I haven't had any in a few years, but the KK glazed doughnuts I had then were the best tasting doughnuts I have ever had. I keep myself away from them as if they were heroin! Super addictive.

So, a co-worker of mine drove all the way out there and brought back a box. Although I like to dismiss them as stereotypical American fast-food hype, I decided to give one a try (I actually tried one about 10 years ago but was so unimpressed that I never had another one).

My thoughts upon having one were that, if I lose my teeth before I get diabetes, all is not lost since they essentially turn into a fat and sugar slurry immediately upon entering the mouth and they are essentially drinkable. Why not just eat melted ice-cream which comes in innumerable flavors?

But if you like 'em, more power to you, just don't over do it. They appear to be the cigarettes of the food world both in terms of addiction and health hazard. :-)
