Question Visiting Albuquerque

Hello .. and Happy New Year ..

I may be coming in for a conference at the Hyatt Regency.
I have almost no free time during the conference.

However I would like to add some days to my stay if I can ..

What would I see if I stayed downtown and traveled on foot ?
Restaurants .. museums .. places of interest ...
Not really a shopper but would consider authentic native products.

Thank you in advance.

If your company is paying (wink wink) I'd stay at the Hotel Andaluz, it's a recently completed hotel (in a historic building) smack dab in downtown ABQ. You'd be within walking/bus/hitchhiking distance of Old Town and Nob Hill.

The Rapid Ride bus ABQ Ride goes to Old Town and Nob Hill.
Nob Hill is worth seeing as a glimpse ( somewhat ) of old Rt. 66.

You can walk to the Alvarado Transit Depot and
catch a Rail Runner train to downtown Santa Fe.

Ask around at the hotel if you can catch a ride with someone
going to the Tram. Cab fare might be $20 each way.

Staying at the "conference" hotel is ideal as I actually attend.

It looks as if there is no reason to add time to my stay ...

Thanks ...

Actually - there are numerous things to do and see in ABQ and if you add Santa Fe you add many, many more things to do.

Since your on the internet already - just do a little research.

Here's a start:

Albuquerque - Albuquerque New Mexico - Albuquerque NM

Visiting Albuquerque - City of Albuquerque

I looked.
I would only be able to add one day at the beginning and one day at the end.
So I don't see much that would justify the expense as to have those two full days .. I may need to add four hotel nights.

I will add it my list of driving vacations.

Thank you, all.
