The OP makes it sound like packing throngs in like a Mumbai train station is a desirable direction for downtown to go. A new urbanist downtown, not necessarily packed with people who live far away, but balanced with the rest of the city, is a far healthier and more pleasant direction in which to go.
As the OP I have no idea what you are talking about. I asked a simple question, I didn't make any statements about packing train stations.

That was a response to my post about the downtown (I included my entire post and the reaction). I was trying to provide you evidence of an anti-downtown sentiment. Yikes!
Belen is alright if you like small and sleepy. The only things to really recommend it are there are cheap houses, and people leave you alone.
On the flip side, it's a pretty depressed small town, not much in the way of jobs, not much to do. Lots of stray dogs roaming the streets.
I ended up here by accident - I was selling property in NY and the deal fell through after I was already working in ABQ. Just needed a place to stay until the other property sold, and buying in Belen was cheaper than renting in ABQ. In hindsight, I wouldn't do it again.
The general feel of the area. I liked the people that I met. I liked the pueblo type homes. On the same trip we went to Reno, Las Cruces & El Paso and none of these cities hit us the way ABG did, it felt like a place that we would be happy to make our last home.
You know sometimes a place just feels right. We have bought two homes because they felt right for us and they were.

to me there is hardly no wind here, coming from Eastern NM, ABQ is perfect in that category.
That's good.
So why don't you answer the original posters question?
