Technically, I'd call that a Ghetto restaurant, but I love it just the same.
Ghetto/Nob Hill - for all practical purposes are the same geographic area.
Mannies, at Girard and Central on the SE corner is an excellent diner.

I frequently go for their Huevos in the a.m.

The Flying Star caters to NM tastes, but it's more generic.
The best NM food to be had in either the Ghetto or Nob Hill is at El Patio on Harvard
( just around the corner from ye olde Frontier. ya friggin' goomba!
( Some consider El Patio the best NM food in town, BTW. )
For the unitiated, get the Blue Corn Green Chile Chicken Enchilada plate.

I don't remember what we ordered, but we got two different entrees and we hated both.
The Frontier is a funky place, but the food is surprisingly good. Debbie really likes
their green chili stew.

love frontier
Just branched out after about 20 years into their chicken enchiladas (creature of habit, I.) They are really good.
Also love El Patio.
Cervantes is good and spicy too. Not Nob Hill or Downtown. San Pedro and Gibson.

MH- bummer about Mannie's. When we were dating my wife lived in a place just up the street, so I used to hit Mannie's for their huevos fairly regularly without disappointment. I always got a kick that they had free wi/fi before most people knew what it was, although the staff would always look at me like I just rolled in a 52" projector wide screen every time I opened up my Powerbook.
If I wasn't absolutely tied to Nob Hill (on foot) but was in the area I'd hit the Los Cuates on Lomas or head further up (North on) Gibson to Padilla's.
If I was closer to old town I'd probably end up at the Church St Cafe or Little Anita's.
