I'm moving up there (I know, I know, but it was the best house with the most space for the cheapest price), but every time we head there on a weekend we can't figure out where to get breakfast. Suggestions? We like Sophia's breakfast burritos, if that is any guide, and the omelettes at El Camino Dining Room.

Villiage Inn on 528 across from Intel is my favorite.

Weck's, for belly busting food. Good food. Good prices. Too much for me, on the East side of 528, K-Mart is behind them. Weck's is a New Mexico Business. A bit noisy and crowded for me on weekends.

Calico Cafe, but not in Rio Rancho, SW 4th street ABQ.

Just down the hill from RR, in Bernalillo, are two small places where we go for Sunday breakfast: Abuelita's and Lupe's Antojitos.

They're both on Camino del Pueblo. Abuelita's serves NM foods and Lupe's serves Mexican. I get huevos ranchos at both places and always leave with a smile on my face and stains on my shirt.

For some reason, we haven't found a restaurant in RR that has become one of our favorites.

I agree there, they are both good. Also many like the Range in Bernalillo.

We are lacking for breakfast places in Rio Rancho.

If you don't like Weck's or Village Inn, you might try "The Bagel" behind McDonald's on the East side of 528. Where the Smith's grocery store is. If you want a good breakfast Bagel, go there.

Where there's a Weck's there is breakfast.

Thanks everyone!

We've tried the Village Inn and Wecks. They are good, but not up there in "favorites." I guess we're not just blind, maybe RR is lacking a good breakfast joint. Business opportunity, anyone?

NMguy, I'll check out the places in Bernalilo. And Rich, The Bagel might come in handy. I'm a Native NYer, after all, no matter how I disavow that!

Go for it! Let me warn you there have had a lot of restaurants go out of business in Rio Rancho in the last 10 years or so. But things are getting better, maybe.

Wecks is a favorite NM place, they have 8 or 9 in the ABQ area.

You will find a lot of New Yorkers at the The Bagel. It has been there probably 15 years. Small place, get a bagel sandwich and cup of coffee...

Skip a town over to Bernalillo, go to The Range.

_IF_ they get the eggs right, the eggs benedict are the best I've ever had, their hollandaise is exceptional, but... BUT... it pales in comparison to the chicken fried steak with green chile gravy and eggs.

For actual Rio Rancho, I'll go ahead and bring it up again... Enchanted Cookies and Cakes. Incredible breakfast pastries and decent coffee (just coffee, no frufru blended wanna-be-coffee or extra foam, half-caf, skinny, dry, sugarfree, 3-pump vanilla lattes in a large cup with no-calorie sprinkles and a twist of lemon).

I'm usually of the opinion that it's not technically breakfast if an animal didn't die, it's just a filler to get you through to lunch, but I will make an exception for this place. Strawberry cream-cheese croissants start the day just right.

There's a newish place called Tea's at Southern and Unser, NE corner, facing Unser. We've only been once and they have good bagels and my husband enjoyed his breakfast burrito.
Depending on where you are in RR, Corrales is not too far away, and we love Nate and Hannah's there.

Although it's not in RR, I'd strongly recommend Hannah and Nate's in Corrales. It's one of my favorites.

I always find it hard to order something other than their eggs benedict.
