Where to go for shopping?
Hello,
I'm new to Albuquerque and am looking for some good stores that sell such apparel as - golf polos, athletic shorts, sports team oriented t-shirts, etc. Any decent outlet stores/malls I should be looking at? I live close to the UNM campus. Anything out there you can recommend? Thanks.

Check the malls in the Uptown area - Winrock, Coronado, and ABQ uptown (outdoor mall). I'm sure you'll be able to find something you're looking for. You can take a rapid ride bus there from Central if you don't have a car. If you do have a car, it's only about 10 mins from UNM.

If you have a car, visit the Cottonwood Mall - lots of the types of clothes/stores you mentioned.

The OP lives near UNM... Coronado or Winrock are WAY closer than Cottonwood. They all have the same stuff.

Well its not reasonable if the OP doesn't have a car, but since he is new he should know about all the destinations, especially since his focus seems to be mall type shopping, maybe he gets bored of Coronado/Uptown and no one ever told him about Cottonwood?
He should also know that the only store in Winrock is Dillards so don't go there to visit a bunch of places assuming it is a 'mall'
But yes, between ABQ Uptown and Coronado I think Old Navy is the only major mall store that is missing, but there is an Old Navy closer than Cottonwood.
Another thing to note about though Cottonwood is that it is surrounded by big box stores, Target, Best Buy, Pet Co, Walmart, Costco, Lowes, etc. So if the OP had a car and a lot of shopping they wanted to do, that could be more convenient than running all over the heights.
There isn't anything mall like near UNM, although there is a lot of shopping in Nob Hill it is more kitchy and less pop culture shopping is maybe the best way I can think describe it. If the focus is specifically on clothing near UNM the only places I can think of are the UNM book store and Buffalo Exchange.

I'm sure the OP knows how to use the Google.

If you have access to transportation or want to take the Railrunner, there's an outlet mall in Santa Fe. There are several stores there that would meet your needs.

Thanks for the replies. I do have my own vehicle for transportation. Just wondering if Albuquerque has any outlet stores?

Closest in ABQ would be TJ Maxx and Marshall's and, to some degree, Ross ( although their quality is not that great ) TJ Maxx and Marshall's are on Montgomery and there are a couple of Ross stores, one at Montgomery/San Mateo and one on the West Side, and there is a second Marshall's on the West Side.
There's a small outlet mall in Santa Fe, on the southern end of Cerillos Rd. There's a Nike store, a Polo Outlet, Eddie Bauer, and other stores.
It's not a great mall but coupled with a visit to Santa Fe, it can make for a nice day.
