Default Rio Rancho Tour Today Observations

I decided to tour Rio Rancho as i have'nt been out that way in about 4 or 5 months now so here's my observations.

I left the exciting compound of the SE Hieghts going down Gibson Blvd to I-25 and headed north to Bernalillo at US 550 and exited there. It has really built up in Bernalillo since last visit as more businesses are poping up although i wonder about traffic during rush hour. Traveled up the hill on 550 and could see all the housing built up along that stretch of road and then on to Unser Blvd. Although clearing land at that corner no houses yet and proceeded to Rio Rancho up to the town center and to Northern Blvd where Unser was reciently widen (looks good).

Here's my thought ...is it me or is Rio Rancho slowing down? Yes they've built 1000's of homes out there over the last several years but i hardly seen anything under construction including at the town center although it looked like the new City Hall is finally built.. There's supposed to be more city buildings under construction along with the new high school and NADA. Maybe its the national trend with housing slowing down nationally or is there less people moving in.

Continued along the Unser on the west side and did noticed the new high school (volcano vista) is starting to get bigger in size as construction moves along at the new school. Then out to the freeway where there is the widening project going on but seemed slow on that too. Then finally back to the SE Hieghts. Did noticed the week before i checked out Los Lunes and the new housing at I-25 west is booming out there.

Just wondering if it was just me thinking construction has slowed down or if that reallly is the case in Rio Rancho. I know there's huge master plans out there but wondering if the national housing slowdown trend has effected it there.....

Oh...did noticed that the new Paseo Del Norte extention is paved up to Unser so that should open soon. I give Mayor Chavez kudos on that one as i despise the Sage Council....

Construction has slowed down everywhere, even here in Las Vegas where for the past 20 years they have been building over 3,000 homes a month. Now it's about half that amount due to all the flippers puttting their homes on the market at once, and all the foreclosures thanks to all the sub-prime loans biting people in the a**. You think 4,000 homes for sale in Albuq. is a lot? Well, it is, but try 24,000 in Las Vegas. And those are just the MLS homes. They don't count the FSBOs.
